This course builds on the basic skills mastered in computer applications. Students work toward the attainment of high-level employable competencies including integrated software applications. Advanced Word formatting features include working with sections and columns, creating an automatic table of contents based on heading styles, formatting SmartArt graphics, producing brochures and newsletters, modifying style sets, and maintaining sources in the citations and bibliography source manager. Students who excel in advanced computer applications course are eligible for articulation credit, which gives the student credit for the Computer Information Systems Course #109 upon enrolling in courses at Columbia State Community College.
